Alexei Arestovich, one of the advisers of the Ukrainian president, resigns
Alexei Arestovich, one of the advisers of the Ukrainian president, resigns from his position. He made the announcement on a social network on January 17. It happens after several deputies of the Verkhovna Rada in Kyiv initiated the collection of signatures for his resignation.
The discontent of the parliamentarians was caused by a statement made by Alexei Arestovich that the missile that hit the Dnipro block was, in fact, shot down by the Ukrainian air defense system, which was denied by the Ukrainian army. "I wrote a resignation letter. I want to proove a civilized departure behavior. A fundamental mistake means resignation," wrote Arestovici. We remind you that on January 14, a Russian missile hit a high-rise building in Dnipro, where more than 1.1 thousand people lived. The explosion completely destroyed one section of the house. 40 people died and dozens more were injured. Russia has denied the allegations, saying it does not target civilian infrastructure.
