SMURD intervention in the Republic of Moldova. A two-month-old child, transported to a hospital in Iasi, Romania
A two-month-old child, who was diagnosed with meningitis, was transported by the SMURD from Chisinau to a hospital in Iași, Romania. According to the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, the child was previously hospitalized at the Mother and Child Institute in Chisinau. The case happened in the afternoon of March 23.
The helicopter landed at the Dinamo stadium from where the child was taken on board the aircraft. The newborn was safely transported by doctors and paramedics and monitored throughout the airway.
He is to be hospitalized at the Emergency Clinical Hospital for Children "Sfânta Maria" in Iasi for medical care. According to IGSU, this is the second SMURD aeromedical intervention for the Republic of Moldova carried out since the beginning of 2024.
