The Governor of Gagauzia criticises the Government. The Executive's reaction: "They are fakes"
The Bascan of Gagauzia, Irina Vlah, comes with accusations against the Government. It claims that the money provided by the external partners of the Republic of Moldova is not transparently managed. Also, in the program "Scanner" from Moldova 1, Vlah states that she has access to some projects only before the meetings of the Executive. Government representatives qualify both statements as false. According to them, donations from external partners do not come to the state budget, but are given to NGOs, and Government decisions are published a week before the meeting.
"Today our country survives only because we have great financial support from the European Union. We have a budget deficit. But we don't know how the European money is distributed, how the aid is distributed. - Are you a member of the Cabinet of Ministers? - Yes, but even as a bashkan of the Gagauze region, I don't know and this is not discussed. It's the end of November, but I don't know what the budget for 2023 is. Government members don't discuss these topics in their offices," said the head of Gagauzia, Irina Vlah, in the program "Scanner" from Moldova 1.
Requested by Moldova 1, the spokeswoman of Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița, Anastasia Taburecanu, said that the accusations brought by Vlah are unfounded.
"The support that comes from external donors does not come into the state budget. The money does not come under the management of the Government. It is regrettable that it is not consulted beforehand on subjects such as Government Decisions or budgets. All decisions are published one week before the Government meeting. They are consulted beforehand in the meetings of the secretaries of state. A representative of Mrs. Vlah also participates in those consultations", declared Anastasia Taburecanu.
Vlah also claims that a similar situation occurred last year, when the draft budget was distributed half an hour before the meeting.
"We don't know what challenges await us: the Minister of Economy, the Minister of Infrastructure, the Minister of Finance. At least the members of the Government should discuss and say that next year will be a difficult one, they will raise prices. - Does it appear that you are working in ignorance? - For me, yes", said Irina Vlah.
"On the website of the Ministry of Finance is the expenditure report that anyone can access. The great pity is that Mrs. Vlah, who is a member of the Government, does not know about the website and this report", Anastasia Taburecanu also declared.
Previously, the management from Comrat criticised the Executive from Chisinau for not examining the proposals of Irina Vlah, although the legislation stipulates that all initiatives must be addressed to the ministries, and they are examined later at the meetings of the secretaries of state, and then at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
