In the context in which Russia remains a dictatorship, the entire region is under pressure, says president Maia Sandu. "We value peace and freedom. Enlargement will make the European Union stronger. Because the EU needs peace and stability in the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine. The Republic of Moldova's chance to survive as a democracy is only in the EU. Ukraine has shown that it pays the highest price for democracy and European values. Moldovans are doing their best", the head of state said.

Davos is a global platform first of all economic, stated the Minister of Foreign Affairs Nicu Popescu. So it is a possibility to convince businessmen to invest in the Republic of Moldova. But at the same time, the priority is the dialogue with the heads of state and government in the European Union.

"As a country, as a society, we need friends and support for our country, both in the European way and in maintaining the peace, stability, Europeanness of our country, but also the development of our country. Including this trip of the lady president to Davos, it is obviously part of the achievement of the foreign policy objectives, drawn by the lady president, namely: Accession to the European Union. This requires obtaining the support of each individual member of the European Union", emphasized the head of diplomacy from Chisinau.

President Sandu met with the Prime Minister of Luxembourg, Xavier Bettel, the new President of the Swiss Confederation, Alain Berset, and is due to meet with other Western leaders in the coming days.
