Ukraine Under Siege: Latest on Russian Assaults and Civilian Casualties

Multiple Russian assaults have resulted in the deaths of at least four individuals and inflicted injuries on approximately 30 people on Wednesday, including in Kharkiv, the second-largest city in Ukraine, as reported by AFP.

In Kharkiv, which boasted a populace of nearly one and a half million prior to the conflict, a Russian airstrike claimed the life of at least one individual and caused injuries to 19 others, including four minors, striking civilian targets, as per local authorities' announcements.

According to preliminary information from the Prosecutor General's Office, two high-powered bombs launched from an aircraft inflicted damage on residential blocks, a school, and a kindergarten in the afternoon.

In the village of Borova, a 12-year-old boy succumbed to injuries sustained in a Russian attack on Wednesday evening, as announced by the local prosecutor's office, which also noted that the precise type of weapon used remains undetermined.

Furthermore, four individuals were wounded in nocturnal bombings and a drone strike in the vicinity, as stated previously by Governor Oleg Sinegubov.

Two additional individuals lost their lives in assaults in other regions of Ukraine.

The governor of the southern Herson region reported the death of a 61-year-old woman in her residence during a drone strike on the village of Mykhailivka, situated along one of the banks of the Dnieper River.

Additionally, one person fell victim to artillery fire in Nikopol, a city in the southeastern part of the country, a fact lamented by the governor of the Dnipropetrovsk region, Serghei Lissak.

Moreover, eight civilians sustained injuries in Nikolaiev, a significant city in southern Ukraine, following a ballistic missile strike, according to the city's mayor, Oleksandr Sienkevitch.

The detonation of a mine in a village in the southern Herson region claimed the life of one person and resulted in injuries to a second individual, who underwent leg amputation, as reported by Governor Oleksandr Prokudin.

Upon the withdrawal of the Russian military from the territories it had seized at the onset of the conflict, it left behind a substantial number of mines.

In the occupied city of Horlivka, situated in the eastern Donetsk region, a Ukrainian air strike resulted in the death of a woman within her apartment, according to authorities installed by Russia.
