Joint meeting of the Legal Committees of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova and the Senate of Romania
Between January 19 and 22, 2023, the Legal, Appointments, Discipline, Immunities and Validations Commission of the Romanian Senate is organising a joint meeting with the counterpart commission from the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova in Argeș County in response to the meetings they had in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova, and in Iasi. According to a statement issued by the Romanian Senate, its purpose is to continue the parliamentary political dialogue between the members of the legal commissions opened in 2022.
"The program provides for meetings with the members of the Legal Commission, appointments and immunities, led by Mrs. Olesea Stamate, as well as a meeting to which professionals from the legal environment are invited," reads the statement.
In the same note it is also mentioned that the meeting of the commissions that will take place in Pitesti, Argeș county, is part of the institutional collaboration between Romania and the Republic of Moldova, of the Romanian parliamentarians from both banks of the Prut, "consecrating the will to bring the two legislative forums from the double perspective of affirming the common identity roots and the support given by Romania to the integration of the Republic of Moldova into the European Union".
