Deputy Marina Tauber Faces Legal Battle: Allegations of Interference and Potential Penalties

Deputy Marina Tauber has appeared in the accused's seat on charges of interfering in the administration of justice.

The Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office disclosed that the criminal case was instigated at the start of May last year. According to the case materials, on April 12, 2023, Tauber allegedly intimidated and offended the judges of the Chișinău Court of Appeal, who were presiding over the criminal case involving fugitive Ilan Șor's alleged fraud and money laundering.

Consequently, the judges suspended the session and exited the courtroom. If proven guilty, Marina Tauber faces a fine of up to 47,500 lei or a maximum of four years of imprisonment.

It's pertinent to note that Tauber lost her parliamentary immunity following the Legislature's endorsement of interim Attorney General Ion Munteanu's proposition on March 14.

Marina Tauber dismissed the allegations levelled against her as unsubstantiated.
