The bashkan of Gagauzia, Evghenia Guțul, was questioned by the anti-corruption prosecutors and was officially charged in the case of illegal financing of the outlawed former "Şor" Party. If she is found guilty, Guțul risks losing her mandate as mayor.
In a live on her Facebook page, Evghenia Guțul said that the file is a political one and rejected the accusations against her.
Asked to provide more details about the hearings, the head of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office, Veronica Dragalin, said that the institution will provide details in this case next week.
