The Deputy of the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS), Victoria Cazacu, was excluded from the party, after her daughter was targeted in a corruption scheme at the Airport, informs the National Standing Bureau of the faction. Also, PAS asks the deputy to submit her mandate, obtained after the July 2021 parliamentary election, and reiterates that the party has assumed the fight against corruption and will not tolerate such cases.
"PAS has assumed the fight against corruption as a basic principle and will not tolerate such cases within the party", reads a statement of the faction.
Contacted by Radio Moldova, Victoria Cazacu stated that her daughter was not detained, and under the rule of law and the presumption of innocence, she does not intend to submit her mandate and will remain an unaffiliated deputy until all the circumstances are settled.
"I can inform you that the exclusion from the party came as a reaction to the refusal to submit my deputy's mandate and the fierceness to denigrate me and my family. My daughter was not detained, and in the context of the rule of law and the importance of the presumption of innocence, I will maintain the status of an unaffiliated deputy until all the circumstances are settled. However, with every attempt to blame people, I will not give in to the attempts of denigration and intimidation", said Victoria Cazacu.
