On World Health Day, residents of Chisinau will benefit from free medical consultations
On World Health Day, residents of Chisinau can receive consultations from doctors at the tents set up near the "Nicolae Testemițanu" State University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Chisinau. Thus, visitors will be able to test their blood sugar, diabetes, blood pressure for free and will benefit from more information about maintaining health. Also, other events are planned for today to promote a healthy lifestyle.
The Minister of Health, Ala Nemerenco, said that in order to maintain a healthy population, the institution she leads will take several measures this year, including against smoking and especially regarding electronic cigarettes.
The official also emphasized that the authorities are investing significantly in the modernization of the hospital infrastructure, in equipping it with high-performance equipment and in qualified medical personnel, in order to ensure the population a qualitative access to health.
"The Ministry of Health invests tremendously so that we have access to high-quality services, modern hospitals, primary care institutions that have an attractive appearance, to have medical staff, to motivate them and to pay them high salaries. Every year we strive to increase the salaries for the staff working in the medical institutions of the Republic of Moldova", said Ala Nemerenco.
We remind that the Chisinau City Hall has also set up tents in the Ștefan cel Mare and Sfânt Public Garden in Chisinau, where citizens can also receive consultations from specialists on non-communicable diseases. World Health Day is celebrated every year on April 7.
