Moldova Advances in EU Integration Talks
Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov is embarking on a working visit to Brussels to participate in two explanatory sessions of the screening process. The working visit will take place on April 9-10.
According to a press release from the Bureau for European Integration, the delegation of our country will include representatives of the Bureau, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Economy and Digital Development, the National Bank of Moldova, the Agency for Public Services, and the National Commission of the Financial Market.
"The sessions will be dedicated to Chapters 4 (free movement of capital) and 6 (company law). The European Commission will present the normative and institutional framework of the Community legislation concerning these areas, and the delegation of the Republic of Moldova will be able to obtain additional clarifications within the framework of question and answer sessions," the press release states.
The Republic of Moldova applied for membership in the European Union in March 2022 and was granted candidate country status in June 2022. In December 2023, the leaders of the Community space decided to open accession negotiations.
