Governor Anca Dragu of the National Bank of Moldova (BNM) embarks on a significant working visit to Bucharest, where she is set to engage in discussions with key representatives from the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB), the Financial Supervisory Authority (ASF), and the National Bank of Romania (BNR).

This strategic visit, as outlined by the BNM, aims to foster closer ties between the capital markets of the Republic of Moldova and Romania, while also delving into the enhancement of surveillance mechanisms and intervention strategies.

During the inaugural day of her visit on April 9, 2024, Anca Dragu will convene meetings at the Bucharest Stock Exchange, tackling pivotal topics such as stock trading models, the symbiotic relationship between market operators and regulatory bodies, and the pivotal role of the central depository. Simultaneously, another crucial meeting is scheduled at the Financial Supervisory Authority, honing in on the supervision of stock operations, reporting procedures to the supervisory body, and the subsequent intervention measures.

Continuing her itinerary, on April 10, Anca Dragu is slated to hold discussions with esteemed representatives of the National Bank in Bucharest. These deliberations will primarily revolve around the oversight of transparency, models for the prior approval of holdings, as well as the vigilant surveillance mechanisms and intervention protocols enforced by the central bank.

Accompanying Governor Anca Dragu are Vice Governors Constantin Șchendra and Tatiana Ivanicichina, advisor Alexandru Savva, and heads of BNM subdivisions, collectively forming the delegation representing the National Bank of Moldova.

The recent discourse on the promotion of interconnection between the capital markets of the Republic of Moldova and Romania has been underscored at the "Moldova-Romania: Capital Bridges" Forum, held in Bucharest. This high-profile event saw the participation of distinguished officials from both states, alongside Governor Anca Dragu of the BNM, reflecting a concerted effort towards fostering financial integration and collaboration between the two nations.
