Greece, Romania, and Moldova Forge EU Integration Partnership
The Republic of Moldova's journey towards European integration stands to gain invaluable expertise from both Greece and Romania.
According to a statement issued by the Legislature, a Memorandum outlining this collaboration was signed at the parliamentary level in Athens.
Signatories of the document reaffirmed their commitment to Moldova's prospective membership in the European Union by establishing a framework for the exchange of information and cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
The distinguished attendees at the event included Doina Gherman, Vice President of Parliament; Ina Coșeru, Chair of the Foreign Policy and European Integration Committee; and Larisa Novac, Chair of the Friendship Group with the Hellenic Republic.
Doina Gherman emphasised that the Memorandum will serve as the cornerstone for implementing various European cooperation initiatives between national parliaments, with the assistance of international experts.
Ioannis Plakiotakis, Vice President of the Hellenic Parliament and Chair of the Committee for European Affairs, highlighted that discussions focused on Moldova's progress along its European trajectory, along with the support extended by Greek authorities to the nation.
