Ursula von der Leyen Condemns Iran's Aggression Against Israel
The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, condemned the unprecedented attack launched by Iran on Israel.
She appealed to both parties to exercise caution in the wake of the assault, as reported by dpa and Agerpres.
"I firmly condemn Iran's brutal and unjustified attack on Israel," von der Leyen stated. "I demand that Iran and its accomplices immediately cease the attacks. All parties must now refrain from further escalation and act decisively to restore stability in the region," she emphasised in a message posted on the X platform.
The ayatollah regime has long been engaged in warfare against Israel, typically utilising Iranian forces from the Gaza Strip, Lebanon, Iraq, Syria, and Yemen for this purpose.
In a historic turn of events, the Islamic Republic of Iran has directly targeted its declared enemy, Israel, for the first time.
According to the Israeli army, over 300 drones and rockets were launched in the extensive attack, with the vast majority intercepted while still outside of Israeli airspace.
While only a small number of rockets reached Israeli territory, they caused no casualties or significant damage.
