Moldova Braces for Cold Snap & Heavy Rain
Moldovan temperatures will reach a maximum of 11 degrees Celsius (51.8 degrees Fahrenheit) on Thursday, April 18, according to meteorologists.
Nighttime lows will dip down to 4 degrees Celsius (39.2 degrees Fahrenheit). A yellow code warning for heavy rain and wind remains in effect.
The State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS) forecasts occasional heavy showers and northerly winds intensifying in gusts of up to 15-20 metres per second.
Temperatures will vary across the country. In the north, daytime highs will range between 6 and 9 degrees Celsius (42.8-48.2 degrees Fahrenheit), with nighttime lows between 4 and 7 degrees Celsius (39.2-44.6 degrees Fahrenheit). Central Moldova will experience highs of 7 to 10 degrees Celsius (44.6-50 degrees Fahrenheit) and lows of 5 to 9 degrees Celsius (41-48.2 degrees Fahrenheit). Southern Moldova can expect a maximum of 11 degrees Celsius (51.8 degrees Fahrenheit) during the day, while nighttime temperatures will range between 6 and 9 degrees Celsius (42.8-48.2 degrees Fahrenheit).
The SHS anticipates cool weather to persist in the coming days, with rain in some areas of Moldova.
