Prime Minister Dorin Recean condemns the use of elderly people for the introduction of money from Russia by the Șor group
Prime Minister Dorin Recean condemns the use of the elderly for the introduction of Russian money into our country by the criminal group Şor. The Prime Minister asked the legal institutions to be vigilant, because there will be more such actions.
"We saw that more people were not taking the issue of hybrid threats seriously, and the other day we saw how the Shor criminal group is already using the elderly. This is very cynical to use old people as cash carriers. You noticed how the institutions seized over a million dollars in cash. I ask the institutions to be vigilant, because such attempts will continue. This money is dirty money, money from organized crime, money from the threat to the state", said Prime Minister Dorin Recean.
We remind you that on Tuesday, the Prosecutor's Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Cases and the National Police announced that a group of people tried to introduce into the country more than 20 million lei in the interest of a criminal group. Among them are those who participated in the creation of the Victoria block in Moscow. 135 searches were carried out at the Airport, and another 27 throughout the country. The targeted persons had up to ten thousand euros on them, an amount that is not required to be declared to the customs officers upon entering the country.
According to the law enforcement officers, for the service rendered, they were remunerated with up to 500 euros. The action is part of the illegal financing scheme of the satellite parties of the former "Sor" formation. We remind you that Ilan Şor, criminally convicted in the Republic of Moldova in the case of bank fraud, announced on Sunday in Moscow that he is launching the so-called Victoria political bloc. The entity will bring together many satellite parties that he created from scratch or reanimated, after last summer the Constitutional Court outlawed his former formation on charges of illegal financing and attempts to destabilize our country in the interest of Russia.
The actions are perceived as a threat to state security. In this context, the General Prosecutor's Office is examining the crime component of "treason" in relation to the criminal group, said the acting general prosecutor, Ion Munteanu.
