Head of Polish diplomacy asks Germany to deliver cruise missiles to Ukraine

Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski hopes that German Prime Minister Olaf Scholz will change his mind and Berlin will deliver Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine after the US decided to supply Kiev with long-range missiles, reports dpa, quoted by Agerpres .

"I hope the chancellor feels encouraged by the recent events", Sikorski said in an interview with Bild on Sunday.

He described the delivery of US ATACMS missiles to Ukraine as a "reaction to Russian escalation" to which Germany would also have to respond.

So far, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has rejected the idea of delivering Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine. He fears that Germany could be drawn into the war if it supplies Kiev with such missiles, with a range of 500 kilometers.
