Boost for Moldova: Fresh Meat Exports Now Approved for EU
Moldovan economic agents are now authorised to export fresh and frozen meat to the European Union, expanding their offerings beyond processed meat products.
The announcement was made by Prime Minister Dorin Recean at the commencement of today's government meeting.
"This achievement exemplifies the positive outcomes that can be achieved when institutions collaborate effectively," Prime Minister Recean emphasised. "We are committed to creating new export opportunities for our economic agents within the largest global market, which boasts the most affluent consumers."
In a landmark decision last March, the Republic of Moldova secured the right to export processed poultry meat and table eggs to the European Union. This decision served as a testament to the European Union's recognition of Moldova's robust national official control system, as highlighted by the National Food Safety Agency at the time.
Obtaining the authorization to export these products to the EU proved to be a complex and lengthy undertaking for Moldova. The process entailed a comprehensive exchange of information, in-depth technical consultations, and a series of audits conducted both virtually and in person.
