Moldova Battles Daily Cyberattacks on Government Sites
Moldova 1, the national broadcaster, reports that cyberattacks are occurring daily against government websites.
These attacks are not being made public to avoid causing undue public alarm. Technical teams are currently working to address the issues.
In a separate development, the Public Services Agency announced this morning that a temporary suspension of ASP public services nationwide was in effect. This suspension was due to technical problems affecting the MPay Government Electronic Payment System.
Representatives from the Information Technology and Cybersecurity Service confirmed that they were actively working to resolve the technical issues. Additionally, they have blocked all IP addresses from outside Moldova that are considered to be security risks. This measure aims to protect the country from further cyberattacks.
It is worth noting that the Moldova 1 website has successfully repelled several cyberattacks over the past few days. These attacks, along with those targeting other government institutions such as achizitii.md and mPay.md, are reported to be occurring on an almost daily basis, according to a previous statement by government spokesperson Daniel Voda.
