Eurovision Song Contest Heats Up in Malmö, Moldova's Natalia Barbu Takes the Stage

Moldova's representative, Natalia Barbu, is preparing to take the stage under number 11, as announced by Andrei Zapșa, Deputy General Director for Development of the Teleradio-Moldova Company. Ms. Barbu will be representing Moldova for the second time at this prestigious international competition. She arrived in Malmö on April 26 to participate in rehearsals and meet with fans in anticipation of the contest.
A palpable air of excitement fills Malmö as the city gears up to host the first semi-final of the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest today, May 7th. This semi-final will also feature Moldova's representative, Natalia Barbu. The anticipation surrounding the event is significant, as evidenced by the extensive preparations underway.
Natalia Barbu emerged victorious at the national finals with her song "In the Middle," securing a perfect score of 12 points from the judges and accumulating an additional 60 points. The Teleradio-Moldova Company is the official national organiser of the Eurovision Song Contest in Moldova.
The semi-finals will be held on May 7th and 9th, followed by the grand finale on May 11th. This marks the third time that Malmö will host the Eurovision Song Contest. The city previously hosted the competition in 2013, which was won by the singer Loreen, who has achieved the remarkable feat of winning Eurovision twice. Notably, Sweden holds the record for most Eurovision victories, having triumphed seven times. This year, bookmakers predict a close race between Switzerland and Croatia for the coveted Eurovision 2024 crown.
