Parliament building in Chisinau, illuminated in the colors of the European flag
For a few hours, on Wednesday evening, the Parliament building will be illuminated in the colors of the European Union flag. The action is organized in the context of May 9, when the 27 states of the European Union, as well as our country, celebrate peace and unity in Europe.
May 9 marks the anniversary of the historic moment represented by the "Schuman Declaration", which proposed the idea of a new form of political cooperation in Europe and laid the foundations of the European Union.
On Thursday, here in the Parliament building, the presidents of the friendship groups from the legislatures of the member states will be present and they will send a strong message of support for the European perspective of our country.
In the Grand National Assembly Square, the head of state Maia Sandu and European Commissioner Johannes Hahn will open the traditional European Town. Several interactive activities will take place there, and the member states of the European Union will present their assistance to our country.
Also on Thursday, Moldova 1 TV will broadcast several special editions dedicated to Europe Day, starting at 9:00.
