Accession process of the Republic of Moldova to the EU, under discussion in Vilnius
Representatives of the Bureau for European Integration (BIE) and the Presidency of the Republic of Moldova participated in the session "Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova in preparation for the accession negotiations to the European Union (EU): achievements, challenges and needs", organized within the Tallinn Group in Vilnius, Lithuania.
The event, held on May 16, brought together officials and experts from EU member states to discuss progress and challenges related to EU enlargement.
During this session, Marinela Şeremet, BIE's main consultant, and Igor Zaharov, advisor for European affairs and strategic communication at the Presidency, presented the current priorities and the necessary reforms undertaken by the Chisinau authorities in the country's European journey, as well as the role of the Office for European integration in ensuring organizational and functional support for the activity of Working Groups and public authorities in the EU accession process.
The activities of the institutions involved, the existing administrative capacity, the challenges and the basic needs in the process of European integration and approximation to EU standards were also highlighted.
The members of the Tallinn Group welcomed the progress made by the Republic of Moldova in carrying out reforms and expressed their support for our country's European path.
