Enhancing Resilience: Moldova's Security Deal with the EU Unveiled

The recently signed security agreement with the European Union serves as a mechanism through which the bloc will assist institutions in Chișinău in enhancing their resilience against cyber, information, and hybrid challenges.

President Maia Sandu emphasised the importance of this partnership in light of the geopolitical situation in the region.

The head of state stated that this agreement is another means through which the Republic of Moldova can benefit from the European Union's support, emphasising its significance as a partner in this regard.

"This serves as a comprehensive agreement for our activities and cooperation within the European Union in the field of security. It is crucial to enhance our state's resilience, including that of our institutions and citizens. Each of us must understand the risks and dangers to better protect ourselves across all fronts, combat disinformation, and strengthen state institutions," stated Maia Sandu.

The Security Partnership was signed on May 21st in Brussels, enabling our country to swiftly align with the European Union's Common Foreign and Security Policy. Furthermore, defence assistance will be bolstered through the European Peace Instrument, facilitating the Republic of Moldova's more active contribution to European peace and security.
