Germany's 60M Euro Aid Pledge to Ukraine: Combatting Russian Aggression

Germany will offer Ukraine a new aid package worth 60 million euros. The announcement was made by the German Foreign Minister, Annalena Baerbock, on May 27.

According to the German official, the financial assistance is primarily intended to alleviate the situation in eastern Ukraine, reports The Kyiv Independent..

"Russian terror especially targets the people and everyday life in Ukraine, attacking shopping centres only to kill people and spread fear and terror," stated Baerbock during a meeting of EU Foreign Ministers in Brussels.

The German Foreign Minister promised that Berlin will provide additional assistance to eastern Ukraine in cooperation with international organisations.

The EU Foreign Ministers met in Brussels to discuss the war of Russia against Ukraine. The head of Ukrainian diplomacy, Dmytro Kuleba, is expected to join by videoconference.

Russia launched an attack on the Ukrainian city of Kharkiv, hitting a hypermarket and resulting in 16 dead and 40 injured.
