The Romanian Literature Museum in Bucharest made the donation to coincide with the 135th anniversary of Eminescu's death.

Eminescu's enduring and influential works continue to resonate today, drawing distinguished guests from across the Prut River to Chișinău for a series of commemorative events.

"Eminescu unites us," said Maria Șleahtițchi, director of the National Museum of Romanian Literature in Chișinău. "In collaboration with the Romanian Literature Museum in Bucharest, who initiated this project, we are hosting a series of events to celebrate the donation of the Eminescu Notebooks. These are facsimile editions of Eminescu's original manuscripts, bound in book form."

The Eminescu Notebooks will be a valuable resource for researchers who have not had the opportunity to examine the fragile originals. Sculptor and graphic artist Mircia Dumitrescu had the privilege of working with the originals during the creation of the facsimile editions.

"Working on Eminescu's manuscripts was a true honour," said academician Mircea Dumitrescu. "This collaboration with Eugen Simion represents a significant achievement and, in my opinion, one of the most important cultural projects undertaken in Romania since the year 2000."

Eminescu's enduring legacy, which prominently features the concept of a unified Europe, is the subject of ongoing research by academician Mihai Cimpoi, a prominent scholar of Eminescu's work.

"Undoubtedly, Eminescu serves as a powerful voice for Romania in the global dialogue on values," said academician Mihai Cimpoi. "He equips us with the ability to discern true values from false ones. A renowned philosopher once remarked that values are currently in disarray, and Eminescu's work offers us guidance in restoring them to their rightful place."

The commemorative events concluded with a scientific symposium at Moldova State University and the inauguration of the exhibition "In me beats the heart of the world." The National Museum of Romanian Literature in Chișinău also presented their colleagues in Bucharest with 18 commemorative plaques dedicated to the great poet Mihai Eminescu.
