Moldova Swelters Under Heat Advisory: Safety Tips Issued

Following a prolonged period of rain and abrupt weather fluctuations, Moldova braces for scorching temperatures.

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory across the entire country, effective for Monday, June 10.

Highs are expected to reach 33 degrees Celsius (or 91 degrees Fahrenheit) or even higher in most regions. In response, weather officials urge residents to avoid midday outings and minimise exposure to direct sunlight.

During the heatwave, particular attention should be paid to water safety regulations. Authorities strongly recommend swimming only in designated areas with lifeguard supervision. Furthermore, lifeguards advise against consuming alcoholic beverages before entering the water.

Individuals exposed to peak heat hours are encouraged to stay hydrated by consuming plenty of fluids and seek shade whenever possible. In the event of heat-related emergencies, citizens are advised to call the national emergency number 112.
