Biden Warns of Putin's Threat to Europe, Pledges Support for Ukraine
President Joe Biden of the United States has cautioned that should Russia prevail in the conflict, it will not cease its actions in Ukraine, emphasising the threat posed by Vladimir Putin to the entirety of Europe.
During a meeting with his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, on Saturday, he declared, "The USA is strong and will stand by Ukraine," as reported by Digi24 citing Kyiv Independent.
Biden warned that if the Kremlin's aggression proves successful, it will extend beyond Ukraine: "Putin will not halt at Ukraine. The entirety of Europe will face threats. We will not allow this to occur. The United States stands firmly with Ukraine. I reiterate - we will not yield."
Macron hosted Biden for a state visit with the aim of emphasising their robust partnership in addressing global security concerns. President Joe Biden arrived in France on June 5th. Subsequently, he joined President Emmanuel Macron in commemorating the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings in Normandy on Thursday.
He later held a meeting with President Volodymyr Zelensky on Friday. During his address on D-Day, June 7th, Biden underscored the significance of safeguarding democracy domestically and internationally.
