Fake News Alert: French Troops Not Coming to Moldova

The Ministry of Defense refuted information circulating online that cites a French magazine as claiming 500 French soldiers are being deployed to the Republic of Moldova.

The Ministry denounced the message as "provocative and manipulative disinformation" and urged citizens to seek information only from reliable sources.

In a press release issued on June 13, the Ministry stated that "a new fake news story" is being spread on Telegram channels, alleging the deployment of French soldiers. The Ministry emphasised that this is "provocative and manipulative disinformation."

The Ministry concluded its statement by urging citizens to "get their information only from official and credible sources."
