Gareth Southgate's men got off to a strong start, with Jude Bellingham capitalising on a cross from Bukayo Saka to open the scoring in the 13th minute. The English nearly doubled their lead shortly after through a mazy run by Kyle Walker, but his shot went narrowly wide.

Serbia emerged with renewed purpose in the second half, applying significant pressure on the English defence. Harry Kane, largely anonymous until the 77th minute, came close to adding a second goal for England with a header that rattled the crossbar after a good save from Serbian goalkeeper Predrag Rajković. Serbia themselves weren't without chances, with Dušan Vlahović forcing a fine save from Jordan Pickford, who tipped the ball over for a corner. The resulting corner also caused problems for England, but Harry Kane rose well to head the ball clear.

England will look to build on this victory when they face Denmark in their next Group C match on June 20th, which kicks off at 7:00 PM local time. Serbia, meanwhile, will be aiming to bounce back when they take on Slovenia on the same day, but in a slightly earlier 4:00 PM kick-off.
