Premiere for the Republic of Moldova: A patient was brought from Serbia by SMURD Romania plane
A citizen of the Republic of Moldova, victim of a road accident on June 16, in Serbia, was brought, for the first time, by SMURD Romania plane.
According to the Minister of Health, Ala Nemerenco, the patient, who suffered multiple traumas and burns, was taken from the emergency hospital in Belgrade by the SMURD Romania aero-medical crew and was transported safely to Chisinau, being constantly monitored during the flight by doctors and paramedics.
An ambulance with a highly specialized intensive care team of the National Center for Pre-Hospital Emergency Medical Assistance transported the patient from the Airport to the Clinical Hospital of Traumatology and Orthopedics in Chisinau.
"We thank the teams of Serbian, Romanian and Moldovan doctors and the services involved for their high professionalism," noted Ala Nemerenco, on the social media page.
The Ministry of Health announces that the patient's condition is serious, he suffered burns on 25% of his body surface and will undergo several surgeries, including skin transplantation in several stages.
