Moldova Mourns Beloved Author Spiridon Vangheli
Moldova is observing a National Day of Mourning today, June 24th, in honour of the beloved writer Spiridon Vangheli.
Relatives, friends, colleagues, and admirers of the great writer gathered to pay their respects at the Nicolae Sulac National Palace.
The body of the late writer will lie in state at the National Palace starting at 10:00 AM, where a farewell ceremony will be held. The funeral procession will then proceed to the Central Cemetery on Armenească Street for the burial of Spiridon Vangheli, also known as "Guguță's Father."
Vangheli's body lay in state last night at the "Teodora de la Sihla" Cathedral in the capital, where a religious service was held. The renowned author passed away on Friday, June 21st, at the age of 92.
