Moldovan Swimmers Punch Tickets to Paris Olympics
Moldovan swimmers Pavel Alovațchi and Tatiana Salcuțan secured their spots following impressive performances at the European Swimming Championships held in Belgrade.
Salcuțan showcased her strength in the women's 200-metre backstroke, finishing 10th in the semifinals. Despite her placement, her recorded time was sufficient to qualify her for the Olympics. Likewise, Pavel Alovațchi competed in the men's 400-metre freestyle, where he finished 14th in the semifinals. However, his time proved to be fast enough to qualify him for the prestigious sporting event in Paris.
