Ukrainian cereals transiting the territory of the Republic of Moldova will continue to be exempted from ANSA control

Cereals from Ukraine, which are transported in transit on the territory of the Republic of Moldova, will continue to be exempt from the control of the National Food Safety Agency. The report on a draft law providing for this was examined at today's meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Agriculture and the Food Industry. This exemption will apply until the current September 14.

"Considering the fact that this type of goods transits the territory of the Republic of Moldova in specialized means of transport, the risk of introducing quarantine organisms is low. In the event of transport accidents and loads in transit on the territory of the Republic of Moldova, transporters will be obliged to notify, within two hours, the National Food Safety Agency", reads the press release.

The PAS deputy, Alexandr Trubca, stated that the adoption of this draft law will solve the problem of the transit of goods of non-animal origin and the queues at the border of the Republic of Moldova, both in the entry and exit, as a result of the increase in the flow of goods from Ukraine.

The draft law will be proposed to the Parliament for adoption.
