Olympic flame reaches the Council of Europe

The Council of Europe, in the presence of its current Secretary General, Marija Pejčinović Burić, received today the Olympic flame for the Paris Summer Olympic Games. The bearer of the Olympic torch was welcomed by the president of the Parliamentary Assembly, Theodoros Rousopoulos.

Also, an exhibition about the Council of Europe's European Sports Charter was opened.

For more than fifty years, the Council of Europe, the main organization defending democracy and human rights in Europe, has been advocating for fair play and respect in sport through its actions to make healthy and ethical sport accessible to all.

Smuggling of luxury cars, brought illegally from France, Italy and Holland. Three men, under criminal investigation

Three men from Hîncești are being investigated for smuggling seven luxury cars from France, Italy and the Netherlands, estimated at over 4.2 million lei. According to the PCCOCS, following the cooperation with the French authorities, 10 searches took place in Chisinau and Hîncești - the district where the three suspects are from. As a result, more than 170,000 lei were collected, allegedly from criminal activity, a universal key for starting stolen cars and other items important to the criminal case.
