Ukraine Calls for Air Defences After Devastating Missile Attack
A Russian rocket struck a nine-story apartment building in Dnipro on Friday night, destroying several upper stories. This was announced by the Dnipropetrovsk regional administration, according to the BBC.
Dnipro authorities have reported casualties, but details are unavailable. Russian attacks have also damaged several other residential buildings in the city, according to the regional administration head, Serhiy Lysak.
"Four stories were destroyed," the statement said. "Rescue workers, medics, and all emergency services are already at the scene, providing all necessary assistance."
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky issued a statement on Telegram, urging all international partners to take action. "Only a sufficient quantity and quality of air defence systems, and only a strong enough global response can stop Russian aggression," Zelensky wrote. "These are the solutions we need - we need a robust air defence system for Ukraine."
