Border Police received a new donation from Germany
38 cars and five boats were donated today, July 4, by the German Border Police in an official ceremony. They will be distributed to all subdivisions of the Border Police, to contribute to patrol and intervention missions in critical areas of the state border.
The head of the Border Police, Ruslan Galușca, expressed his gratitude for the continuous support of the German Government and for the efforts of the German Embassy in the effective implementation of this assistance project.
"I am confident that, together, we can strengthen cooperation in the field of border security and ensure a safe and secure border for the citizens of the Republic of Moldova and the European Union. The opening of the negotiations for the accession to the EU puts before the Republic of Moldova and, in particular, the Border Police, important commitments, relevant for the alignment with the community acquis", declared Ruslan Galușca.
"This donation represents not only a major improvement of the available resources, but also a confirmation of the institutional commitment to the continuation of the technology and modernization of the state border, as a process along the lines of strengthening security and the effective management of challenges", states the Border Police.
The Minister of Internal Affairs, Adrian Efros, and the German Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova, Margret Maria Uebber, were present at the donation event.
