Natalia Gavrilița requests verification of funds used by the "Apă-Canal" Enterprise

Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița wants to request the competent authorities, including the Financial Inspectorate, to verify the correctness of the use of funds by the "Apa-Canal" Enterprise under the Chisinau City Hall and the causes of the debts. Natalia Gavrilița unveiled her intention, after today, the Chisinau mayor, Ion Ceban, said that there was a risk that the city of Chisinau would run out of water and sewage.

"We found out with concern that there was a risk of disconnecting the water supply to consumers in the capital. The municipality must take on the citizens' problems, find solutions to these problems and not look for someone to blame for their own failures", Natalia Gavrilița wrote on Facebook.

According to Ion Ceban, the electricity supplier "Premier Energy" is disconnecting the S.A. "Apa-Canal Chisinau" from the power grid.

The mayor said that the Water Networks Sector and the Botanica Water Networks Sector in Chisinau were disconnected. At the same time, he requested the convening of the Commission for Exceptional Situations.

"Cover 300 million debt and credit bonds for 2023 at the Strategic Enterprise for Chisinau. During the day of January 26, other objects will also be disconnected, although we proposed to solve the problem", wrote Ion Ceban.

Moldova 1 reminds its viewers that the mayor of the capital declared today that the inhabitants of the capital risk running out of water and sewage services due to the accumulated debts for electricity, which amount to more than 73 million lei. The mayor suggests that water tariffs should be increased.
