UN General Assembly President on a two-day visit to Chisinau

The Republic of Moldova continues to provide the necessary support to refugees from Ukraine, a country that is fighting bravely against Russian aggression, in order to maintain peace throughout Europe, Prime Minister Dorin Recean said at the meeting with the UN General Assembly President, Dennis Francis.

According to a press release from the Executive, the UN General Assembly President expressed his appreciation for hosting Ukrainian citizens, as well as for the progress of the Republic of Moldova in terms of social inclusion and gender equality.

The officials also discussed the initiation of the accession negotiations of the Republic of Moldova to the European Union, the challenges in the region, but also the participation of our country in the "Future Summit", which will take place on September 22-23, in New York, reads the press release.

Also today, Dennis Francis met with Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popșoi.

Dennis Francis ends his tour in Eastern Europe with an official visit to the Republic of Moldova, which takes place on July 6-7. According to the schedule of the visit, the official is to visit the Mother and Child Center and the refugee accommodation center.

More than 300 young people from the Republic of Moldova were trained in camps in the Russian Federation, as well as in guerrilla camps in Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the aim of causing mass destabilization and disorder around the presidential elections and the constitutional referendum on joining the European Union from October 20. They also received specialized instructions on the use of drones equipped with explosives and pipe bombs, between September and mid-October, by foreigners with links to private military groups such as "Wagner" and "Ferma", said Alexandru Musteata, head of the Intelligence and Security Service, Alexandru Musteață.
