Ukraine's NATO accession: Washington summit promises support, but no irreversible commitments
The United States of America (USA) has promised that the NATO summit these days in Washington will end with a joint statement supporting Ukraine's accession process to the North Atlantic Alliance, but avoided committing to include the word irreversible, as requested by Kiev, informs EFE.
US President Joe Biden noted that the final summit statement, which is still being negotiated, will include very strong signals of support for Ukraine's accession and will also emphasize the importance of Ukraine making reforms in economic, security and democratic matters.
Also, the Biden administration believes that the statement will contain a strong message in which it is clear that Ukraine will join the North Atlantic Alliance in the future.
Kiev wants the allies to recognize that Ukraine's future accession is a process of no return.
