French and Ukrainian Ministers of Foreign Affairs held a meeting at a refuge in Odessa
French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna met her Ukrainian counterpart Dmitro Kuleba in Odessa on Thursday, Agerpres reports.
The two were forced to meet in a shelter in the port city on Ukraine's Black Sea coast because of air raid sirens, Kuleba said.
"It is probably the first time in history that foreign ministers have held talks in the basement of an Opera House. And the reason was another air raid siren due to the threat of Russian missiles on Odessa," he tweeted.
"Because of a Russian missile I actually experienced my first bilateral diplomatic meeting in a shelter. Coffee was hot, thanks," Colonna wrote on Twitter, later saying that the two talked about "everything" during the meeting.
Dmitry Kuleba said he looked forward to further discussions on France's role in the international coalition on tanks, grain exports and the formula for peace. "The Ukrainian-French partnership remains crucial to putting an end to Russian aggression and restoring peace," the Ukrainian diplomacy chief added.
