Igor Grosu called on Turkish companies to make investments in renewable resources development projects
Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu held talks with Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Fatih Donmez and Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavușoğlu during a recent visit to Ankara.
"In 2023, Moldova will concentrate on developing renewable resources and improving energy efficiency. Thus, we have invited the Turkish side to join these projects. With Turkey among the European leaders in renewable energy production, we want to benefit from their experience," Igor Grosu explained.
The Head of the Legislature and the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources reached an agreement to enhance Moldovan-Turkish energy sector cooperation. In this context, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Andrei Spînu will take part in the Natural Gas Summit to be held in Istanbul on 14th-15th February this year, according to a press release issued by the Moldovan Parliament.
The talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, Mevlüt Çavușoğlu, centred on topics related to bilateral relations, the prospects for cooperation in various areas and reducing the regional impact of the Russian Federation's war in Ukraine.
Igor Grosu and Mevlüt Çavușoğlu discussed Moldova's status as a candidate country for accession to the European Union, "This intensive dialogue confirms once again the strategic nature of our bilateral relations and the excellent interaction within several international and regional organisations, and we want this to remain at the right level", the Speaker stressed.
Igor Grosu is ending his three-day official visit to Turkey today.
