Dorin Recean wished success to the athletes who will represent the Republic of Moldova at the Olympic Games: "You are the best"
26 athletes from the Republic of Moldova will participate this year in the Summer Olympic Games in Paris. They will compete in ten sporting events. The Olympic team was presented today, July 15, in an event attended by the country's leadership. Prime Minister Dorin Recean congratulated the athletes and coaches, wishing them success in the competition.
"I am proud that, in recent years, the Republic of Moldova is being talked about more and morein terms of achievements in sports. Thank you for making the Government's work easier and when we go abroad we are known. You are the best and you will prove it when you return home, some of you, with medals", emphasized the Prime Minister.
We remind you that, previously, the Government approved the amount of prizes for the performances obtained at the Olympic and Paralympic Games. The athletes who will get the gold medal will receive 3 million lei each, and those who will rank second and third will receive 2.6 and 2 million lei, respectively. The coaches will also be rewarded for the results achieved, the prize awarded to them being equal to that offered to the athlete.
The 33rd edition of the Summer Olympic Games will take place in Paris, between July 26 and August 11 this year.
