Metsola obtained a new mandate reaffirming her commitment to European values and to supporting partner countries, including the Republic of Moldova.

Since taking office as President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola openly expressed her support for the Republic of Moldova in the process of joining the European Union, but she also supported the approach of the Chisinau authorities in the implementation of reforms.
The President of the European Parliament paid her first official visit to Chisinau on November 11, 2022, one day after our country was visited by the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen. Then, in an interview for Moldova 1 TV, Metsola said that she had a "warm, sincere and meaningful" welcome during her first visit to Chisinau.
The President of the European Parliament participated on May 21, 2023 in "European Moldova", a pro-EU rally organized in the Great National Assembly Square in Chisinau. Metsola gave a speech in front of the people to whom she conveyed, in Romanian, that "Moldova is not alone".
