Moldova Cracks Down on Customs Corruption

Officers from Moldova's National Anticorruption Center (CNA) launched an investigation early this morning at the Leușeni customs post.

The operation targets several customs officials suspected of soliciting and accepting bribes.

"CNA spokesperson Angela Starinschi announced the operation's commencement in the early morning hours," the statement reads. "The investigation is currently underway at the suspects' workplaces and residences. It is important to note that CNA's actions have not disrupted regular operations at the Leușeni customs post."
