Study in Moldova: New Online System for University Admissions

Moldovan universities will begin accepting applications on Monday, July 22nd, marking the start of the admissions process.

This year, for the first time, prospective students can apply online through a new platform launched by the Ministry of Education.

Economists, including Veaceslav Ioniță, predict a rise in the admissions rate this year based on his recent analysis.

Data from last year's enrollment shows that the majority of students, or 32%, were aged 19-23. This represents a nearly 3% increase compared to 2022.

The next largest group is students over 40, representing 6.5% of the total. Students aged 30-35 make up almost 6%.

There's been an interesting rise in the number of international students choosing Moldovan universities.

Last year, 5,217 students chose to study in Moldova, a 4% increase over 2022. Over half came from Romania (across the Prut River). The remaining students originated from India (21%), Israel (just over 10%), and Ukraine (7.5%).
