Igor Grosu, for the media from Romania: "We do not see an imminent danger of conflict escalation at the borders of the Republic of Moldova"
The Republic of Moldova was a target for Russia at the beginning of the military invasion in Ukraine, when its troops were close to Odessa, said the Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu in an interview for Digi 24. But now, the official says, there is no imminent danger of conflict escalation at the borders of our country.
"The latest events, the victories of the Ukrainian army in Kherson, removed this danger. We, at this moment, do not see an imminent danger of the conflict escalation at the borders of the Republic of Moldova. This moderated the separatist authorities there, who became very careful in public language, but also in speeches that were offline. But hybrid dangers remain," said Igor Grosu.
The Parliament Speaker recalled that in the Republic of Moldova there were attempts to destabilize the political situation with paid protests, but the authorities managed to keep the situation under control.
