Iran warns Israel of its attack plans
Iran has issued a warning about its intention to attack Israel. Such a strike is intended to be a response to the removal of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz says, RBC-Ukraine reports. "Iran has informed us that it intends to attack Israel," says the official.
He made the statement following a discussion with Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó, who previously held talks with Iran's acting Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri.
Katz said the world must hold Iran accountable for any aggressive actions.
Recently, Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh was killed in a guest house in Tehran. According to Iran, Hamas leader Haniyeh was killed by short-range projectile, while Western media reports indicate a bomb explosion in the Hamas leader's room.
Following this event, Iran repeatedly threatened Israel with a strike. In response, the US decided to deploy additional fighter jets to the Middle East.
According to the New York Times, Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei previously ordered his military to strike Israel.
However, as the US agency reports, the Iranian authorities do not want to target civilian objects in Israel.
