The "Maria Bieșu" National Opera and Ballet Theatre has a new director
Conductor and composer Cristian Spătaru was appointed artistic director and permanent conductor of the National Opera and Ballet Theatre (TNOB) "Maria Bieșu".
Cristian Spătaru wrote, in a message on his Facebook page, that new and interesting projects are coming.
"Within my conducting activity, I am proud to collaborate with my new colleagues from this prestigious institution in my hometown, to take the national opera and ballet even further," wrote Cristian Spătaru.
Cristian Spataru was born in 1993 in Chisinau. He graduated first in Composition, then Orchestral Conducting and Choral Conducting at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, Austria. In June 2021 he took his orchestra conductor exam.
On April 1, 2022, he made his debut as an opera conductor, in the Romanian National Opera in Cluj-Napoca, and in March 2023, he made his debut as a ballet conductor.
