A powerful explosion followed by a flash of light occurred at a munitions factory in Iran, reports Iranian news agencies quoted by CNN and The Guardian. Authorities in Tehran said it was an attack by small drones, without specifying who was responsible.

According to a press release from Iran's Ministry of Defense, one of the drones was hit by anti-aircraft defenses, and the other two were trapped and exploded. The attack comes amid tensions over Iran's nuclear program as well as Russia's supply of Shahed drones that were used in the war against Ukraine.
