A Romanian man and a Moldovan woman, caught in the act with young women recruited for prostitution

Two people, involved in human trafficking, were detained by the law enforcement officers. It is a Romanian man from Vaslui, Romania, and a woman from Balti. According to the Prosecutor's Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Cases (PCCOCS), the individuals were caught in the act while they were trying to transport young women recruited for prostitution to Germany.

The 29-year-old Romanian man, settled in Germany, was detained while driving a car, with a recruited young woman by his side, prepared to be taken to Germany to practice prostitution. According to the statements given during the investigation, the man recruited the victim through social networks, promising her a profit of 160 euros for each person sexually served, half of which was to go to the young woman, plus accommodation and protection provided by him.

At the request of PCCOCS, the man was placed in preventive detention for 30 days. During the hearings, he partially admitted his guilt.

The authorities also detained a 37-year-old woman from Balti, who was accompanying two young women recruited for prostitution. The woman admitted her guilt and she was placed under judicial control, banned from leaving the country during the investigations.

The investigation is ongoing, and the people involved benefit from the presumption of innocence, under the law.
